The city of Murcia presents a large number of connections that depart from the city centre to the countryside and we call them 'radial connections'. All these radial elements always want to solve a connection between two points, but they don´t always successfully facilitate the territory growth in a structured way.

 

​Our project acts between two of these radial connections. In essence, these roads are too close. There is a little countryside between them and we expect that if there is not any intervention, in a short period of time that area of countryside will be badly developed and perhaps lost forever. We propose to create a green park placed between these two connections, as a new radial element without a conventional use. The park would be a place to be used by people from the surrounding countryside and the people of the city itself. It introduces a large number of activities such as: sports, workshops and a bicycle lane. The bicycle lane works as a thread that weaves a route through the park.

​Also we thought about the urban growth near the park around these two radial connections, and we planned several points where residences and civic amenities can be settled, as you can see in our proposal.
